It all started at Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. At 10 years old, Cadie began singing with the choir. Cadie’s Mom and grandmother sang in their church choirs. Her family and those around her had always pushed her in the direction of singing. Most likely to be an opera singer, she was frequently told. Ironically, Cadie never felt secure about singing. She felt she did not have the right encouragement on how to use this enthusiasm for music and quickly lost interest. Numerous times she was held back from soloist positions because of her powerful energy and soul that was often misunderstood. This slowed down her interest in music and singing. She then turned her efforts to acting. At Oak Grove High School, she was involved in the Oak Grove Drama Department and became a member of the International Thespian Society. Her musical talents were realized during a musical theatre tour to Scotland. One of the panel of judges told Cadie she was not an actor, but rather a singer. Again, discouraged based on all the energy she was driving into her acting career that somehow was now circling back to singing. Highly disappointed after this experience, as she had just enrolled and had been accepted to The New York School of Film and Television. And then she had an “Aha” moment…
